Iyaye Clears Air On Rivers Guber Race, Denies Wike’s Endorsement

In Nigeria, the Executive Director of Finance and Administration at the Niger Delta Development Commission, Boma Iyaye, has denied reports linking him to the Rivers State governorship race.

He also dismissed claims that he had been endorsed by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, describing the reports as false and misleading.

Iyaye said his focus remains on his duties at the NDDC, where he is involved in driving development efforts in the Niger Delta region alongside other stakeholders.

He clarified that he has not declared any intention to contest the Rivers governorship election and has not received backing from any political figure.

The denial comes amid growing speculation ahead of the 2027 elections, as political alignments and ambitions continue to take shape across the country.
