In Nigeria, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has said the Peoples Democratic Party’s convention will show that the party is alive and ready for a comeback.

Speaking after inspecting the venue at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja, Wike expressed confidence that the event would convince Nigerians and observers that the Peoples Democratic Party is prepared for the future.

He said arrangements for the convention have been completed, with over 2,000 delegates expected from across the country.

According to him, the setup reflects proper planning and readiness within the party.


Wike also pointed to visible security presence at the venue, assuring that measures have been put in place to prevent disruption and ensure a smooth exercise.

He urged participants to remain calm and orderly throughout the event.


The convention comes amid internal divisions within the PDP, with different factions making moves to assert control ahead of future elections.
