APC Governors Meet Tinubu In Lagos
Thirty-one governors of the All Progressives Congress gathered in Lagos ahead of the party’s governorship primaries next month for a crucial discussion on national issues.
The meeting was held at Eko Hotel, Victoria Island, following a visit to President Bola Tinubu at his Ikoyi residence, where the governors congratulated him on his UK state visit and Eid-el-Fitr celebrations.
By late evening, 21 governors had arrived for the meeting chaired by Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma and hosted by Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
Key discussions reportedly focused on ensuring smooth and peaceful primaries within the party.
The governors in attendance included leaders from Yobe, Ogun, Delta, Ondo, Cross River, Taraba, Kwara, Edo, Akwa Ibom, Nasarawa, Rivers, Kogi, Ebonyi, Plateau, Kano, Niger, Enugu, Katsina, and Bayelsa states.
Their presence reflected a wide representation across the federation.
The Progressive Governors Forum is expected to issue a communique summarising the outcomes of the meeting and outlining the next steps for the party as it approaches its primaries.
