Soludo Closes Market Over Sit-at-home Disobedience

The Anambra State Government has shut the New Auto Spare Parts Association Market in Nkwo Nnewi after accusing traders of ignoring Governor Charles Soludo’s order to end the Monday sit-at-home.

The closure begins at midnight on 23 February 2026 and will run until 2 March 2026.

The directive was announced on the governor’s behalf by his Special Adviser on Trade and Markets, Chief Evarist Uba, alongside Information Commissioner Dr Law Mefor, Security Adviser AVM Ben Chiobi (Rtd) and Nnewi North Mayor Echezona Anazodo.
