Anger Over PVC Handling In Abuja

Concerns have surfaced in Kwali Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory after allegations that voter cards were handed to the wrong people, raising fears about voting rights ahead of local elections.

The claims were made by an African Action Congress councillorship candidate for Pai Ward, identified online as @Enyowins, who said the Permanent Voter’s Card issued to him after registration was collected by someone else at the INEC office.

Footage later reviewed showed another affected voter explaining that his card was among many allegedly released to unauthorised individuals.

He said, “As it stands now this is INEC office .. Usman Godwin voter’s card has been collected from INEC.

The incident triggered reactions online, with residents warning that such errors could prevent eligible voters from taking part in elections.

INEC has not responded to the allegations, and efforts to reach its Abuja office were unsuccessful.

Observers say the Kwali case adds to earlier complaints nationwide over PVC collection problems, fuelling worries about trust in the electoral process.
