PDP Predicts Surprise Victory in 2027

The Kogi State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Muhammed Sanni Gambo, has said the party will defy expectations and reclaim power in the state during the 2027 governorship election.

Gambo spoke in Lokoja on Saturday after a meeting with party members, saying public dissatisfaction with the current administration has created a strong opening for the PDP’s return.

He said many residents now look back fondly on the party’s time in power, linking key infrastructure across the state to PDP-led governments.

According to him, this growing sense of discontent and nostalgia has strengthened the party’s confidence ahead of the next election.
Gambo urged Kogi residents to remain united and patient, assuring them that a PDP victory would bring relief, stability, and renewed development to the state.
He added that the party is fully prepared for 2027 and believes the election will mark a turning point for Kogi.
Similar optimism was echoed on Friday by Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, who suggested that the PDP could surprise many in the 2027 elections after a meeting with President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
