The trial of former National Security Adviser Sambo Dasuki continued in Abuja on Tuesday as a witness told the court how public funds meant for arms purchases were allegedly diverted for private use.

The case is being heard at the Federal Capital Territory High Court in Maitama, where the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission is prosecuting Dasuki over the alleged misuse of N33.2 billion from the Office of the National Security Adviser.
An EFCC investigator, Dr Michael Adariku, told the court that several large transfers were made from an ONSA account to private companies and individuals in April 2015. He said N600 million was sent to Acacia Holdings, while other payments went to schools, bureau de change firms, and real estate companies shortly after.

According to the testimony, the funds were allegedly used to pay for land purchases, survey fees, property deals, and foreign transfers linked to individuals close to the second defendant, Aminu Baba Kusa. Some payments were broken into smaller amounts and routed through agents and business facilitators.
The EFCC said the transactions had no clear link to arms procurement and lacked proper explanations. The court has adjourned the matter to allow the prosecution continue presenting its evidence.
