Dantawaye said the operation has the backing of the Service Chiefs and the Inspector-General of Police, noting that officers have been instructed to focus on areas prone to kidnapping and banditry.

He added that part of the operation will involve profiling individuals loitering around the city, including those posing as beggars, to identify persons with criminal intent. Environmental authorities will work with the taskforce to determine which groups should be removed from the streets.

Dantawaye said the priority is to ensure a safer and more secure Abuja throughout the festive period.
