The chairman said the boycott aligns with a recent Federal High Court ruling that restored former governor Sule Lamido’s right to contest for the party’s national chairmanship. The court order had halted the convention, but the event proceeded in Ibadan.

He accused some party actors of pretending to be Jigawa delegates, warning that they are fraudulent and do not represent the state’s chapter. He added that his office remains committed to legal channels and genuine reconciliation.

According to him, the boycott reflects Jigawa PDP’s loyalty to judicial decisions and its drive to unify the party rather than deepen divisions. He appealed to party leaders to engage in dialogue and find lasting solutions.

He called on members and the public not to be misled by false claims of participation from his state, urging everyone focused on peace and legal resolution. The statement made clear that anyone claiming to be a Jigawa delegate is acting without authorization.
