Lere Olayinka, Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media to the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, has criticised African Action Congress (AAC) leader Omoyele Sowore for calling President Bola Tinubu a criminal.

In a post on Friday, Olayinka accused Sowore of hypocrisy, pointing to his continued dominance in the AAC since its formation in 2018. He noted that Sowore has remained the party’s national chairman while also serving as its presidential candidate in both the 2019 and 2023 elections.

Olayinka mocked Sowore as a “dictator in militocracy,” arguing that he occupies every key role in the party, from chairman to treasurer and financial secretary.

He wrote that Sowore portrays himself as the only one fit to lead, while criticising others for practices he allegedly engages in. Olayinka added that despite securing only 14,603 votes in the last election, Sowore still positions himself as a voice of democracy.
“People shouting democracy up and down… AAC was founded in 2018. The 2019 presidential candidate was Sowore. 2023 presidential candidate was Sowore. The same Sowore has been chairman since 2018. He trusts no one apart from himself,” Olayinka stated.
He further said that if Tinubu were simultaneously APC chairman and president, Sowore would have been the loudest critic, but maintained silence over his own leadership style.
