Imo Government Vows To Make State Nigeria’s Economic Hub

The Imo State government has renewed its pledge to transform the state into the nation’s leading economic and tourism hub.

Deputy Governor Lady Chinyere Ihuoma Ekomaru gave the assurance while speaking at the inauguration of the new executive of the Association of Private Practicing Surveyors of Nigeria (APPSN), Imo State chapter. She said the administration is ready to work with professional groups and organisations that share the vision of driving development across the state.

Ekomaru urged the newly sworn-in APPSN leadership to uphold integrity and professionalism in their work, stressing that their election was a mark of confidence from members of the association. She encouraged them to pursue innovation and collaboration, noting that such values would support the broader state mission of positioning Imo as an industrial and tourism hub.

She further expressed optimism that with unity and dedication, the state would overcome challenges posed by the global economic climate and emerge as a model for other states.

In his inaugural speech, the new APPSN chairman, Surv. Ekene Ezeonyeasi, presented a six-point agenda focusing on accountability, welfare for surveyors, professional ethics, retraining, and the adoption of digital tools. He said the association was already partnering with Governor Hope Uzodimma’s administration to build a state that would stand out across Nigeria.

The ceremony concluded with the formal inauguration of the APPSN chairman and other executive members, marking the beginning of a new phase for the professional body in the state.
