INEC Gets Election Materials For Zamfara ByElection Polls

The Independent National Electoral Commission in Zamfara State has taken delivery of sensitive materials ahead of Saturday’s bye-elections in Kaura Namoda South.

The materials, received from the Central Bank in the state, are meant for six wards where voting will take place.

The delivery was confirmed by INEC’s Head of Operations in the state, Abbas Abubakar, on Thursday. The materials were inspected in the presence of security agencies, media representatives, and officials from political parties participating in the exercise.

State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Dr Mahamud Isah, said preparations for the polls were at the final stage. He assured that the elections would be transparent, free, and fair, with all processes conducted according to laid-down rules.

INEC confirmed receiving 59,488 ballot papers along with other essential materials for the election. The commission explained that arrangements were in place to ensure the smooth distribution of these items to the affected wards.

Fourteen registered political parties are taking part in the Kaura Namoda South bye-elections. The commission stated that security agencies have been mobilised to maintain order and protect the integrity of the process from the start to the conclusion of voting.
