Meanwhile, the party also announced the death of one of its long-serving staff members, Mr. Abraham Olu, who passed away on Tuesday, July 22.

Olu, who worked as an Organising Officer at the APC National Secretariat, had been with the party since its founding in 2013, following the merger that formed the APC from the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) and other parties.

Born in 1966 and originally from Kogi State, he was described as diligent and thorough in his duties. The party expressed condolences to his family and colleagues, calling his death a great loss.

The NEC meeting is expected to address key issues affecting the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
