Supreme Court Again Returns Chief Edozie Njoku As The National Chairman Of APGA

The controversy, which trailed the amendment of the judgement of the Supreme Court delivered on the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) leadership on October 14, 2021, may have been finally laid to rest as the Supreme court has again come out to state that it was Chief Edozie Njoku, who was returned on the October 14, 2021 as the National Chairman of APGA and not Chief Victor Oye.

Justice Mary Odili said in a letter dated November 7, 2022 and addressed to Chief Edozie Njoku, that it was Edozie Njoku that should be recognized as APGA chairman and not Victor Oye.

Justice Odili stated that Oye was not a party to the proceedings in the Supreme Court Appeal Number SC/CV/687/2021, hence, his name could not have appeared in the judgement.

She stated that Chief Edozie Njoku was the proper person to whom the orders and judgement were referred to.

The letter, a copy of which was made available to WazobiaReporters reads in part; “I indeed recall your letter dated 6th May, 2022 to me as the Presiding Justice of the Panel and the other four Justices which requested for correction of the 14th October, 2021, Supreme Court Judgment, wherein the name of Chief Victor Oye was erroneously inserted instead of the name of Chief Edozie Njoku.

“It is to be placed on record that I corrected the mistake by replacing Chief Victor Oye’s name with that of Chief Edozie Njoku on Paragraph 1 of page 13 of the 14th October, 2021 Judgment.”

She concluded her letter by stating that the other four Justices of the Supreme court who were members for the panel would confirm this latest position.
