Governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Oyo State, Senator Olufemi Lanlehin (SOLAN), has announced his to join the All Progressives Congress (APC).

WazobiaReporters recalls that in June last year, Lanlehin exited the coalition with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), accusing Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State of noncompliance to the terms of the coalition.

Lanlehin was one of the major political actors who worked with Governor Makinde to defeat the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adebayo Adelabu in the March, 2019 election. The others were Sharafadeen Alli of Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) and Bolaji Ayorinde of Social Democratic Party (SDP). A few days to the election, they withdrew their candidacy to supported Mr Makinde and made the election a two-horse race.

Other prominent politicians who worked for Makinde and were part of the agreement were a former Governor of the state, Rashidi Ladoja and Monsurat Sunmonu.

In a meeting at his Ibadan residence yesterday, Lanlehin briefed attendees which included the Oyo State Executive Committee of the ADC, led by Rev. Ezekiel Adeniran and some candidates of the party in the 2019 polls on the series of reconciliatory meetings he had attended in the conclusion of plans towards joining the APC.
Representatives drawn from the 33 Local Governments who spoke one after the other, endorsed the move.
Those who attended the meeting included Rev. Ezekiel Adeniran, Chief E. O. Laoye, Hon. Bili Ajana, Yeye Yetunde Ajibola, Hon. Gaphar Ojetola, Hon. Habib Balogun, Alh. Muraina Kakako, Chief Sunday Ajadi (Abeebo) from Ogbomoso, Alh. Rafiu Afuku from Iseyin, Alh. Adebayo Waheed (Adwas) from Atisbo, Erelu Funke Olayanju, Ibarapa East and Dr. Akintola, Ibarapa North.
Others in attendance included Hon. Adedokun JP from Ibadan North, Alh. Suara Ogunyemi from Ibadan Northeast, Hon. Adeoye Sobaloju (Lord Moro), Ibadan Southwest, Otunba Bode Ashiru from Ibadan Southwest, Otunba Kunle Folarin, Afijio, Alhaja Omotunde Lawal from Egbeda, Hon. Tiri Olowoake, Oluyole, Hon. Adekunle Adeolu (Ultimate) Ido, Hon. Gbenga Aluko from Ibadan Southwest and Hon. Kayode Oladele from Ibadan North.
