“We were so impressed by the fact that as a purely Christian State, and in a day that represents the most important event in the Christian calendar, Easter, the people of the State, hearkened to the measures spelt out by Governor Udom Emmanuel in his state broadcast stating why it was necessary and proper for the lockdown to be observes.

“We were heartened that most of the churches decided to have their service online, since it was going to be cumbersome to select the 20 people that were to be allowed to worship as spelt out in previous Government press releases.

“The conduct of our people from our observations was highly commendable and we can imagine how tough the decision may have been for Governor Emmanuel, who is a devout Christian and the fact that the Body of Christ is a critical component of his governance constituency.

“We join our voices with the Governor to state that no Akwa Ibom person will die of Corona virus.”
