The Deputy Campaign Spokesperson of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr Sam Omale, has dismissed concerns about the health of the party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, saying he is in good health but experiencing exhaustion.
Omale made this clarification during an interview on Channels Television, explaining that Obi’s demanding political schedule and frequent travels between locations had left him physically exhausted.
He said Obi remained deeply committed to his political activities and often handled several engagements simultaneously, leaving him with little time to rest.
Omale expressed surprise at the pace of Obi’s movements, noting that he could be in London one day and travel to Enugu the following morning. He said the demanding schedule naturally resulted in exhaustion, adding that Obi was human and needed rest.
The NDC spokesperson, however, insisted that there was no underlying medical problem, saying the candidate was in perfect health and that members of his team were trying to persuade him to slow down and get some sleep.
He also maintained that Obi’s exhaustion would not affect the party’s ongoing campaigns.
