The revised list, published on Saturday, retained the omission of both NDC candidates.

However, INEC included candidates from several political parties, including the All Progressives Congress (APC), Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), African Democratic Congress (ADC), Labour Party (LP), Action Alliance (AA), African Action Congress (AAC), Action Democratic Party (ADP), Allied Peoples Movement (APM), New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) and Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), among others.

Those listed include Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and Murtala Sule Garo of the APC, Abacha Muhammad Sani and Kibiya Yusuf Ado of the PDP, as well as Ibrahim Ali Amin and Shehu Abdulkadir Bari of the ADC.

The latest development comes after the NDC attributed the initial omission of its governorship candidate and running mate to an error in the submission of their details.

Dr Yusuf Ibrahim Kofarmata, Secretary of the Kwankwasiyya Caucus and the party’s House of Representatives candidate in Kano, had said in a statement that the NDC received assurances that the omission resulted from an error while entering the candidates’ information.
