Businessman and politician Abdulrahman Haske has resigned from the All Progressives Congress (APC) and joined the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) ahead of the 2027 Adamawa State governorship election.

Haske was formally presented as the APM governorship candidate on Saturday in Yola, where he said his decision to move to the party was driven by his desire to pursue a development agenda focused on the people of Adamawa.

The event attracted APM leaders, traditional and community leaders, youth and women groups, as well as supporters from the 21 local government areas of the state.
Haske said his political move was based on his desire to promote accountable leadership, economic empowerment, youth participation and sustainable development in Adamawa.
He outlined agriculture, infrastructure, education, healthcare, economic empowerment, security and transparent governance as key areas he would prioritise if elected governor.

The candidate also thanked the national leadership of the APM for giving him the party’s ticket and pledged to work towards justifying the confidence placed in him.
The National Chairman of the APM, Yusuf Mamman Dantalle, said Haske’s political outlook was compatible with the principles of the party and expressed confidence in his ability to offer an alternative leadership for Adamawa.
Dantalle said the party’s decision followed consultations during which Haske’s commitment to youth empowerment, inclusive development and stronger communities was considered.
The Adamawa State Chairman of the APM, Badejo Bello, also welcomed Haske into the party and described him as a bridgebuilder who understands the challenges and opportunities in the state.
Bello said the party believed Haske’s candidacy could help drive better governance and development in Adamawa.
The event ended with an appeal for unity among APM members and supporters as the party begins mobilisation across the state ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
