The operation was carried out by police officers working with Amotekun, local vigilantes and hunters after armed men attacked Ebinpejo Village.
Security operatives tracked the suspects to a forest hideout using intelligence and technical support. The kidnappers reportedly opened fire, leading to a gun battle before fleeing.
Two injured suspects were arrested, while two others accused of supporting the operation were later taken into custody.
The rescued children were taken for medical treatment, with one receiving care for injuries before both were reunited with their family.
Police said investigations are continuing to identify and arrest other members of the kidnapping gang.
In a separate operation, police recovered Russian-made double-barrel guns, a pump-action rifle, an English-made revolver pistol and 36 live cartridges from a suspected armed robbery hideout in Lagos.
The command said efforts are ongoing to arrest the fleeing gang leader and other suspects.
