He said the achievement proves Nigerian contractors can now deliver projects that match the quality of foreign firms.

Wike explained that he was initially reluctant to award the contract because of past experiences with some local contractors.

However, he said Abdul-Val Constructions Limited first proved its ability through the War College-Ushafa Road project before earning the Karu contract.

The minister said the company continued working even when payments were delayed and completed both the roads and drainage system in time for President Bola Tinubu’s project inauguration programme.

He described the contractor’s commitment as rare and worthy of recognition.

Wike added that President Tinubu has approved the construction of more roads across Karu and promised that development would continue across the FCT.

He urged Nigerians to support the administration, saying improved infrastructure would benefit residents regardless of political affiliation.
