Wike Fires Back At David Mark Over ADC Claims

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has criticised former Senate President David Mark over comments linked to the African Democratic Congress, saying the current administration has delivered more visible infrastructure projects than previous governments.

He spoke on Thursday during the inauguration of the Jahi-Gwarimpa interchange in Abuja.

Wike said the road projects executed under President Bola Tinubu’s administration have improved movement and boosted development across many parts of the country.

He argued that road infrastructure remains vital for access to schools, hospitals, markets and farms.

The minister questioned Mark’s record while serving in top government positions, pointing to the long-standing condition of the Akwanga-Makurdi road.

He said the current administration stepped in to improve the route, making travel easier for residents and businesses.

Defending the government’s development efforts, Wike said the FCT was not focusing on roads alone.

He cited recently completed water projects in Karu and another scheduled for commissioning in Bwari, insisting that the Renewed Hope Agenda is bringing development to communities across Abuja.
