Bandits Strike Kaduna Farms Again, Abducts 20 People

Fresh violence hit Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State on Monday as armed bandits attacked farmers working on their fields in Layin Danauta village.

The assailants reportedly invaded farmlands in the area, killing several people and taking many others away.

The attack occurred in the morning when the gunmen opened fire on farmers before abducting residents.

Community sources said about 20 people, including men and women, were taken during the raid, while several others sustained injuries.

Rescue efforts continued late into the night as local volunteers and residents searched for victims.

By nightfall, six bodies had reportedly been recovered, although fears remained that the number of casualties could increase as more people were accounted for.

The latest incident comes days after protests erupted in Birnin Gwari over recurring attacks and kidnappings.

Residents had expressed anger over growing insecurity, while community leaders and security agencies moved to prevent the situation from escalating further.
