Over 150 Terrorists Cases Concluded In Two Days – AGF

The Federal Government has recorded about 150 terrorism-related convictions within the first two days of its ongoing mass trial exercise, according to the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Lateef Fagbemi.

He made the disclosure on Tuesday while briefing journalists at the Federal High Court in Abuja, where multiple terrorism cases are being heard at the same time.

The trials are taking place across several courtrooms, with about 10 judges handling different cases simultaneously.

Fagbemi said the process began on Monday with around 160 cases heard and approximately 150 convictions recorded on the first day. He added that Tuesday’s proceedings brought hundreds of additional cases before the courts.

According to him, about 300 cases were handled during the day, while dozens more were expected to be concluded before proceedings close.

He noted that the exercise would continue over the coming days as part of an ongoing national prosecution drive against terrorism-related offences.

The Attorney-General said the trials reflect the government’s commitment to justice and national security, stressing that terrorism will not be tolerated.

The current phase is the fourth round of mass terrorism trials under the present administration, following an earlier session that saw hundreds of suspects processed before the Federal High Court in Abuja.
