Makinde Promises Safe Rescue of Abducted Oyo Students, Teachers

Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has assured that schoolchildren and teachers abducted in the state will be safely rescued.

He said government efforts are ongoing to secure their release and bring them home without harm.
The governor gave the assurance while speaking with protesters and social media personality VeryDarkMan at the Oyo State Government House.
He said the abducted victims, made up of nursery and primary school pupils alongside teachers, have been held for over a month.
Makinde said the situation has deeply affected him as a parent and described the incident as one of the most troubling security cases the state has faced.
He explained that operational details could not be made public due to the sensitive nature of the rescue efforts.
He added that security agencies are working on a special operation to ensure the safe return of the victims.
The governor also said steps would be taken after the rescue to prevent similar incidents from happening again in the state.
