The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has declared that the African Democratic Congress and its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, will struggle to gain support in Rivers State during the 2027 elections.

Wike made the remarks while speaking about the political situation in the state.

He expressed confidence that the opposition would not make a strong impact, insisting that the ADC lacks the structure needed to compete effectively in Rivers.


The former Rivers governor also maintained that his political camp remains influential across the state.

According to him, supporters of the coalition he backs are well positioned ahead of future elections.


His comments add to the growing political exchanges between rival camps as preparations for the 2027 polls gather pace.

Rivers State is expected to remain a major battleground in the contest for political influence.
