Accord Backs Olawepo Hashim As Presidential Candidate
Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim has secured the presidential ticket of the Accord Party after the party concluded its affirmation primaries across several states.
The exercise formally confirmed him as the party’s candidate for the 2027 election.
Party members participated in the endorsement process despite Olawepo-Hashim being the sole aspirant.
Results released after the exercise showed he received 423,902 affirmative votes from participating states.
Jigawa recorded the highest number of votes with 198,200, followed by Kano with 124,101.
Nasarawa returned 47,309 votes, while Kebbi contributed 46,852, with additional support coming from Kwara and Lagos.
Party officials described the exercise as peaceful and orderly, saying the outcome reflected members’ confidence in the candidate.
Supporters also expressed optimism that the party would present a strong alternative in the next presidential election.
