Where the incident happened was Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State, where armed attackers invaded schools and took away students, pupils, and teachers.

The attack has triggered public concern, protests by teachers, and calls for stronger protection of schools. Videos later showed victims appealing for help from captivity, adding to public anxiety.

Why the governor spoke was due to growing tension after repeated school attacks in parts of the state. He said efforts by security forces are ongoing to track and rescue those abducted.

Defence authorities have linked the attackers to a terrorist faction displaced from other regions. Security operations are still active across suspected routes and forest areas.

How the situation is being handled involves joint action by security agencies and state authorities to locate the abductors and free the victims.

Troops have sealed escape paths around forest corridors believed to be used by the attackers. Surveillance and search operations continue in affected areas. Residents remain hopeful as efforts to secure the victims continue.
