FG Warns Nigerians Against Illegal Migration
The Nigeria Immigration Service has warned Nigerians against travelling out of the country without valid passports, visas and other approved documents.
The agency said illegal migration remains a growing concern across the country.
Immigration authorities disclosed that criminal groups are now targeting vulnerable Nigerians with fake promises of jobs, education and better opportunities abroad.
According to the service, many victims later end up trapped in trafficking and forced labour schemes.
The agency advised Nigerians to verify every travel offer through proper government channels before making any commitment.
It also warned citizens to avoid agents or individuals promoting illegal migration routes or unofficial border crossings.
Parents, guardians and community leaders were urged to educate young people about the dangers linked to irregular migration.
The immigration service added that security agencies remain committed to protecting Nigerians from exploitation and cross-border crimes.
