The exercise took place in Abuja as the party continued preparations for the 2027 elections after months of internal crisis. Party officials said more aspirants could still appear once their documents are complete.

Onor backed the removal of fuel subsidy introduced by President Bola Tinubu, saying the decision released funds for national growth.

He, however, argued that many Nigerians were still struggling because the money had not properly reached ordinary citizens. He promised stronger accountability and direct impact at the grassroots level if elected.

The former senator also linked insecurity to poverty and youth unemployment across the country. He said properly funded local governments would improve community security and create opportunities for young Nigerians.

According to him, councils must receive their funds directly without interference from state governments.

Several governorship aspirants also unveiled plans on food security, healthcare, education and job creation in their states. Some criticised current governors, while others promised reforms aimed at improving living conditions.

The PDP fixed its governorship primaries for May 24 and the presidential primary for May 26.
