UNN Management Denies Arrest Of Journalists
The University of Nigeria Nsukka has denied reports that its security team arrested journalists from Afia Television.
The school said the reporters were only invited for questioning after entering student hostels without approval.
The incident involved a team led by Elijah Akuma, who reportedly accessed hostel areas and began interviewing students.
The university said this raised concerns among residents, who alerted security officials.
Management explained that the reporters were taken to the security office for identification and verification.
It added that once their identities were confirmed, they were allowed to leave without any further action.
The university maintained that no arrest or detention took place and urged media workers to follow proper procedures when entering restricted areas.
It also asked the public to ignore what it described as misleading reports.
