In Ibadan, the South-West leaders of the African Democratic Congress have urged members to stay united ahead of the 2026 and 2027 elections.

Attention was also placed on grassroots mobilisation, with members encouraged to expand party membership and support voter registration in line with electoral timelines.
Leaders said strong local engagement will be key to building support before the elections.
On candidate selection, the zone insisted on credible primaries to produce capable and widely accepted candidates.
The meeting also backed the leadership of David Mark and zonal chairman Rahman Owokoniran, urging members to prioritise unity for electoral success.
