JAMB Explains Delay In UTME Score Release
In Nigeria, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has apologised for delaying the release of UTME results taken on April 17, 2026.
The board had earlier promised to release the second batch on Saturday but missed the timeline.
This led to frustration among candidates across the country. The update was shared on Sunday.
JAMB spokesperson Fabian Benjamin said the delay was due to the absence of the board’s chief executive.
He explained that the official was away on an important assignment. According to him, the results would now be released later in the day.
He assured candidates that the process would be completed before nightfall.
The board also apologised to candidates who waited long hours for the results. It thanked them for their patience and understanding.
The delay came shortly after the release of the first batch of results. That earlier batch covered over 600,000 candidates who sat the exam on April 16.
JAMB said efforts are ongoing to ensure smooth release of all remaining results. The situation has drawn attention to the pressure surrounding the nationwide examination.
Candidates are now awaiting the updated release as promised. The board maintains that the process remains on track.
