It’s Not My Fault You Can’t Read – Atiku Fires At Tinubu

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar on Friday criticised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, accusing him of twisting facts and reacting out of political pressure.

In a statement issued by his aide Phrank Shaibu, Atiku said the president’s recent comments reflect “a troubling pattern of hypocrisy and historical amnesia.”

Atiku’s camp said it was surprising that a sitting president facing scrutiny over his background would attempt to discredit others with documented public records.

It argued that Tinubu’s criticism of past policies lacks consistency and fails under closer examination. The statement also questioned the credibility of the president’s claims.

On economic policy, Atiku defended his record, saying reforms he supported helped revive key sectors and attract private investment.

He listed companies such as Oando, Conoil, and Transcorp Hilton as examples of outcomes from earlier privatisation efforts.

The statement accused the current administration of handling similar processes without openness.

The statement further painted a bleak picture of living conditions, saying many Nigerians are struggling with rising prices and weak purchasing power.

It added that government policies have increased hardship without offering clear solutions.

Atiku’s camp insisted his record remains “clear, documented, and defensible,” warning that “Nigerians are watching.”
