Speaking at the party’s national convention in Abuja, Wike said loyal members stood firm through a difficult period that nearly broke the party.

He credited grassroots supporters for keeping the PDP alive despite defections and leadership struggles.

He said the party has now regained control from those who failed to uphold internal democracy, adding that the focus should shift to rebuilding and preparing for future elections.

Wike called on aggrieved members and former allies to return, promising that the party would be open, inclusive, and fair to all.

He stressed that no group should be left out in the rebuilding process.

He also urged members to renew their commitment to the party’s founding values, saying unity and collective effort are key to restoring the PDP’s strength.

The convention, themed around inclusiveness, unity, and renewal, marks a fresh attempt by the party to resolve internal divisions and reposition itself ahead of the 2027 general elections.
