IGP Assures Residents After Maiduguri Visit
The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, has visited victims of the recent bomb attacks in Maiduguri, assuring residents of strengthened security measures.
During his visit on Tuesday, Disu met with injured victims receiving treatment at the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital and also inspected the Monday Market bombing site.
He later proceeded to the Borno State Government House and the State Police Command Headquarters, where he reviewed ongoing security operations and discussed strategies to improve coordinated responses.
The police chief expressed condolences to victims and their families, pledging that the Nigeria Police Force would intensify efforts to dismantle those behind the attacks and prevent further incidents.
Disu added that security across Maiduguri has been tightened, with increased deployments, enhanced surveillance, and joint operations aimed at safeguarding residents and restoring confidence.
