Kwankwaso Speaks On Makinde Meeting
Rabiu Kwankwaso has said his recent meeting with Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde in Ibadan was not driven by politics.
He explained that the visit was based on a long-standing personal relationship rather than talks of any alliance.
The former Kano State governor and national leader of the New Nigeria Peoples Party met Makinde on Wednesday at the governor’s office.
Their closed-door discussion quickly stirred debate about possible political moves ahead of future elections.
Kwankwaso, who was the NNPP presidential candidate in 2023, dismissed the speculation and maintained that the visit was simply a friendly gesture.
He made it clear that there were no hidden political plans behind the meeting.
The visit, however, has continued to draw public interest, as both men remain influential figures in Nigeria’s political space. Observers are watching closely for any further developments.
