Fubara Appoints New Chief of Staff, SSG

In Port Harcourt on Thursday, Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara announced new appointments at Government House, naming a new Secretary to the State Government and a new Chief of Staff.

The changes were confirmed in a statement released to journalists by his Chief Press Secretary, Onwuka Nzeshi.

Dagogo Wokoma was appointed as Secretary to the State Government, while Sunny Ewule was named Chief of Staff.

The statement said the appointments take immediate effect and that both men will be sworn in at 2pm at the Executive Council Chamber in Government House.
The announcement did not explain why the former office holders were replaced. Wokoma takes over from Benibo Anabraba, while Ewule replaces Edison Ehie, whose role had drawn attention during the recent political crisis in the state.
The reshuffle comes after reconciliation between Fubara and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, following President Bola Tinubu’s intervention to stop impeachment proceedings.
The governor had also dissolved his cabinet and relieved his Special Advisers of their duties in the wake of the crisis.
