The agency said healthcare workers, caregivers and members of the public should be cautious and check infant formula products before use.

The affected pack was said to have been tampered with, raising concerns about product safety and possible health risks to infants.

NAFDAC explained that the notice was necessary to prevent further harm and to ensure that unsafe or altered products are removed from circulation.

It urged distributors and retailers to verify the authenticity of their stock and report any suspicious items to the nearest NAFDAC office.

The agency also advised parents to seek medical attention immediately if a child shows unusual symptoms after taking any infant formula.

Investigations are ongoing in Kaduna to trace the source of the suspected product and safeguard public health.
