Wike said the smooth voting process showed that residents value stability and responsible leadership.

He argued that the results exposed what he called political pretence, claiming voters rejected individuals who stage public gestures to win sympathy during campaigns.

He added that the electorate proved they could not be misled by what he termed emergency democrats.

The minister thanked the President for ongoing projects in the capital, stating that the election outcome mirrored the administration’s direction and the Renewed Hope Agenda.

He also commended the amendment of the Electoral Act, saying it strengthened the credibility of the process and reinforced public trust in elections.

He congratulated the All Progressives Congress and the Peoples Democratic Party on their victories and applauded candidates across parties for participating.

Wike also praised the Independent National Electoral Commission and security agencies for ensuring calm throughout the exercise, while urging winners to serve residents with dedication and focus on development.
