FG Raises Nurses Uniform Allowance
The Federal Government has approved an increase in the uniform allowance paid to nurses, raising it from the previous rate to ₦80,000.
The adjustment is part of ongoing efforts to improve welfare and working conditions for nurses across federal health institutions.
Officials said the new allowance is aimed at easing financial pressure on nurses, especially amid rising living costs.
The increase applies to nurses under the federal payroll and is expected to take effect with the next payment cycle, following necessary budgetary and administrative processes.
Health sector stakeholders have welcomed the decision, describing it as a positive step toward motivating nurses and strengthening the healthcare system.
However, they also called for broader reforms, including improved salaries, working conditions, and staffing levels.
The government said it remains committed to addressing welfare concerns in the health sector to ensure better service delivery nationwide.
