Nigerian Leaders Loved Abroad But Attacked At Home – Tinubu

Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has said many leaders from the country receive admiration and respect outside Nigeria but face harsh treatment from citizens at home.

She made the remark while speaking on the growing gap between how leaders are viewed internationally and how they are treated locally.

She noted that Nigerian leaders are often welcomed with honour and dignity in foreign countries, where their roles and achievements are recognised.

According to her, this contrasts sharply with the situation within Nigeria, where leaders are frequently criticised, insulted, and treated with little regard.

The First Lady expressed concern that constant hostility and public attacks weaken national unity and discourage sincere efforts to serve the country.

She stressed that disagreement should not translate into abuse or total rejection of leadership.

Her comments have stirred conversations about patriotism, civic responsibility, and the need for more balanced engagement between leaders and the people they govern, especially in difficult times.
