Tinubu Issues Important Directive To APC
President Bola Tinubu has directed the All Progressives Congress in Kano State, to halt its planned electronic membership registration.
Lawmaker representing Kano, Alhassan Ado Doguwa, revealed this during a chat with journalists.
The decision was revealed by Alhassan Ado Doguwa, a Kano lawmaker in the House of Representatives, who said the party’s national leadership acted on instructions from the President before the exercise could begin.
The registration had been scheduled to start days after APC officials in Kano announced they were ready, with expectations that former governor and party leader Abdullahi Umar Ganduje would be present for the launch.
Doguwa linked the sudden pause to unfolding political moves involving Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, noting that the party chose to hold back for now as events continue to evolve.
The development has deepened speculation about a possible switch by the governor from the New Nigeria Peoples Party to the APC, as quiet talks and alignments appear to be gaining momentum ahead of the 2027 elections.
