Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, has dismissed criticism over his political choices, saying politics is about interests, power and the people, not emotions.

He spoke on Sunday during the grand finale of his thank-you tour in Obio Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State.
The event held in his political base drew party leaders and supporters, where Wike said his entry into politics was a clear and deliberate choice. He made it clear that he chose the path of politics and expects critics to accept his decision without bitterness.

Other speakers at the event echoed Wike’s influence, noting Obio Akpor’s large voting population and political weight in the state. They assured him of continued loyalty and pledged strong backing for Tinubu’s re-election, while keeping their options open for the next governorship contest.
