Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has begun an inspection visit to Makkah, Saudi Arabia, as preparations gather pace for the 2026 Hajj exercise involving pilgrims from the state.
The visit took place in Makkah and focused on key areas where Kano pilgrims will stay and move during the pilgrimage, including accommodation and transportation arrangements.
The inspection team was led by the Director General of the board, Lamin Danbappa, alongside the board chairman, Yusuf Lawan, with the aim of checking the standard and readiness of facilities.
According to the board, the exercise is meant to ensure the comfort, safety and overall welfare of pilgrims, while also identifying and addressing possible challenges ahead of the Hajj.
During the visit, the delegation also met with the leadership of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria to strengthen cooperation and ensure a smooth and well organised pilgrimage for Kano State pilgrims.
