A former governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, is still presumed innocent as his N80.2 billion fraud case moves through the courts, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has said.

The clarification came from the anti-graft agency amid public debate over Bello’s reported interest in contesting the Kogi Central Senatorial seat ahead of the 2027 elections.
