The crash happened near the Sagamu Interchange while Joshua was returning from a visit, with the vehicle he was in losing control and leaving two passengers dead at the scene, while he escaped with minor injuries.
Family members said the loss deeply affected the 36-year-old boxer, who later informed relatives that he no longer plans to continue his boxing career following the tragedy.

The victims, identified as Sina Ghami and Latif Ayodele, were members of Joshua’s inner circle, and he has since pledged long-term support for their families as part of his personal commitment.
Joshua attended their joint funeral service in London days after the incident, as investigations into the cause of the crash continue, with police already charging the driver while the case moves through the legal process.
