Nigerians Want Results Not Big Budgets Says Natasha

Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan of Kogi Central spoke in Abuja on Friday after President Bola Tinubu presented the ₦58.18 trillion 2026 budget to a joint sitting of the National Assembly.

She said Nigerians are more concerned about how the budget affects their daily lives than its large size.

Her reaction came during debates that followed the budget presentation at the National Assembly, where lawmakers began reviewing the spending plan and its promises for the coming year.
Akpoti-Uduaghan said the country has seen large budgets before, but many citizens still struggle with jobs, basic services, and living costs. She noted that money set aside on paper must turn into real improvements people can see and feel.
She explained that Nigerians expect better roads, steady jobs, affordable healthcare, quality schools, and social support that reaches communities, not just figures announced in parliament.
