PDP Sets Up Caretaker Team As NWC Tenure Ends

The Peoples Democratic Party has put a new leadership structure in place as the tenure of its National Working Committee comes to an end on Tuesday, December 9, 2025.

The decision was reached at the party’s 104th National Executive Committee meeting held in Abuja on Sunday.

The NEC approved a 13-member National Caretaker Committee to steer the party until a national convention is conducted. Hon. Abdulrahman Mohammed will serve as Chairman, while Senator Samuel Anyanwu will act as Secretary.

Other members include Kamaldeen Ajibade, Hon. Umar M. Bature, Dr Kyari Grema, Hon. Janguda Haruna Mohammed, Barr. Okechukwu Osuana, Senator Nwogu Olaka, Senator Sandy Onor, Prof Adenike Ogunse, Hon. Bisi Kolawole, Engr Deji Doherty, and Dr Ibrahim Bala Aboki.

The committee has 60 days to manage the party’s activities. Within this period, all outstanding congresses are expected to be completed and preparations finalised for the national convention.

The decision aims to ensure a smooth transition and maintain stability within the party’s national structure.
