The attack unfolded when a large group of armed men entered the village and moved freely without resistance. Local security volunteers said they had warned authorities hours before the incident after receiving reliable information on the movement of the attackers.

Residents recounted how early alerts were sent to security personnel stationed in the area. According to community leaders, operatives reportedly said they could not act because they had not received official clearance, leaving villagers exposed as the gunmen advanced.

The abducted group includes a nursing mother, three married men and several young people. Families have been left distressed as no information has emerged on the victims’ whereabouts or safety. Attempts to reach the Kano State Police Command for comment were unsuccessful, adding to public frustration.

This latest incident occurred just hours after a separate attack in Yankamaye village in Tsanyawa LGA, where one woman was killed and three others were taken. The two attacks have raised fresh concerns that areas once seen as peaceful are increasingly becoming targets for armed groups.

Residents say the pattern of delayed response and lack of immediate protection is worsening the sense of vulnerability. Many fear that without decisive action, more communities may face similar raids.
